Why Therapy Works
I’m a firm believer that in therapy, everything is connected. The trauma you experience informs the story you tell yourself and how you engage with the world. Over time that engagement becomes a set of blueprints for our nervous system to then navigate experiences. Depending on how your nervous system decides to code this information, you now have infinite possibilities for how you process stress, conflict, relationships, and human connection! My approach to therapy is this: by understanding the stories we tell ourselves we can then make concerted effort to rewrite them into a narrative that is more aligned, fulfilled, and compassionate. Throughout our work, we collaborate as a team to utilize mind-body approaches to unpack trauma, attachment theories to understand relationships, and action-oriented conversations to implement tangible changes. The goal is to build your self-esteem and confidence to a point where you can engage with the world mindfully and attuned to your own needs as well as to that that of your wider community!
